Dude, fuck you! It’s not both sides, it’s not even close. Jan 6, ice thugs, unite the right, proud boys, Oklahoma City bombing, and on, and on. No, it’s not both sides.

The point of the podcast was to temper anger. Far left groups have been involved in some violence. I agree that not in recent time but the point was to take down the anger. It doesn’t make us safer.

Well, from what we are seeing in these comments, it didn’t seem to work too well.

🇺🇸To My Beloved Grandparents: The Truth Is Still Ours to Share

First, I want to send a warm and hearty congratulations to everyone who took part in the No Kings protest yesterday. From coast to coast, grandparents, parents, and young folks alike stood shoulder to shoulder for truth, democracy, and the America we still believe in. Your voices were heard. Your peaceful presence made a powerful statement: we will not be ruled by fear, lies, or authoritarian fantasies. We’re still “We the People.” And we showed up.

But the march doesn’t end on the streets. After the No Kings protests, I had some heartfelt conversations in my own family—especially about why, in 2024, no one seemed to talk about how much the Biden Administration improved the economy after COVID; they feel this gap in information lead to Trump getting elected. That gap in coverage isn’t an accident—it’s a choice made by media outlets that don’t benefit from reporting progress. But we can help fill that gap. That’s why I want to talk honestly with you today about something that’s been weighing heavily on my heart: the difficulty of knowing what’s true anymore.

🧠

Truth is Hard to Find in Today’s Media World

Local newspapers—our once-reliable sources of community truth—have shut down across the country.

Billionaires have bought up major TV networks and national papers, deciding what gets covered—and what gets buried.

Social media algorithms reward outrage, conspiracy theories, and lies, repeating them endlessly until they feel familiar—even when they’re false.

It’s no wonder so many people feel lost, angry, or misled. Even topics like the economy, which can be measured with numbers and facts, have become battlegrounds for spin and propaganda.

I’ll be honest: the clearest picture of what’s really going on comes from the kinds of things most people don’t have time (or patience) to sort through—economic charts, job statistics, spending patterns, labor market graphs. Economists use these tools every day. But most people don’t, and that’s where the manipulators thrive.

📊

The Truth About the U.S. Economy in 2024—In Plain Language

Let’s remember what really happened:

The entire world shut down in 2020 because of COVID. Every economy crashed.

But in the years that followed, America led the global recovery.

By 2023–2024, we had:

Stronger GDP growth than any other G7 nation

Falling unemployment and rising wages in several key sectors

A powerful rebound in consumer spending that helped other economies recover too

A resilient dollar and global trust in the U.S. financial system

But many people still believe that the Biden Administration left our economy is in ruins. Why? Because they’re only hearing one version of the story—often from partisan outlets like Fox News, that only show what fits their political goals.

The truth doesn’t always make the news because it doesn’t stir anger, drive ratings, or sell ads.

🧓👵

A Call to My Fellow Grandparents

You and I—we remember a different time. We grew up with Walter Cronkite, with local reporters we could meet at the grocery store. We remember when the news was trusted. Today, our kids and grandkids are being misled by a media environment designed to divide and enrage, not inform.

✅ If you believe in the messages I share here, please copy and customize them for your Facebook, emails, or family chats.

✅ Add your voice. Make it personal. Tell your children and grandchildren what you have seen, what you have lived through, and what you still believe in.

✅ If you marched, tell them why. If you stayed home, tell them what you’re standing for.

This is our time to make an impact—not just in protests, but in conversations that shape the future.

Let’s keep showing up, speaking up, and lifting up the truth—because the next generation needs us now more than ever.

With purpose and pride,

✍🏼 Clarissa Sr.

Joe, it is NOT both sides. It’s Trump and MAGA openly espousing and supporting political violence.

Threats against congressional lawmakers jumped from 1400 per year to over 9000 BECAUSE of Trump’s rhetoric and the entire Repug party REFUSING to stand up against it. They are ALL complicit and responsible. Period. Full stop.

Democrats were targeted and killed, period. We have seen nothing but ugliness out of MAGA and their thugs. if you want people to stop this dangerous trajectory then put J6 and all hate groups back in jail - and stop the felon in charge who is leading the hate and hate crimes. We are sick of taking the high road

I agree, administration is allowing bad people to ACT badly, they do not call out what is wrong especially if it enhances the dem party, it only serves and makes the republicans look good no matter what they do, the narrative is only for their benefit!! Very sad to have a president in office that clearly only serves one party, that’s not what America is or should be!! Trump is not a president for ALL Americans!!! He should not be the leader of our great country!!!

All right, now you’ve got me going.

12 million protesters and no violence except for the lone MAGA running someone over with their car or shooting someone. When we protest we dress up in cute costumes and carry silly signs. When they protest they dress in tactical gear and carry AK47s. Their leadership, from the president on down, their propaganda mills, their mouthpieces, their churches, continually advocate and cheer on violence. Jesus Christ, some guy throws a brick through the window of a shoe store during the George Floyd protest and is charged with domestic terrorism. Jan 6 insurrectionists are charged with trespassing and get pardons. When was the last time someone on the left assassinated a legislator?

No! There is no equivalence, there is no both sides. One side loves violence, preaches violence, and does violence. Get a grip!

Listen to yourself Joe. You don't even try sound rational. You are sounding like a lunatic. We need rational sounding people. Your tone of voice is condescending as your ranting becomes the main focus rather than a truly levelheaded approach. Please calm down Joe we need to be rational. It's obvious this guy is a mentally disturbed bible thumping evangelical holy roller who was a gun fanatic. That's what we DO know. He was radicalized by the militant right wing evangelicals.

This is nice to say but not realistic when we have an administration I don’t know — sending people to concentration camps, sending in ICE raids to upset people hoping to trigger violence and showing brute force by bringing in the military. Do you really think Democratic leaders are out there killing people? Threatening judges and killing their family members? Do you really think that liberals killed a Democratic leader and her husband and then shot another Democratic lawmaker and his wife nine times! This is what the other side is saying. This not normal. But this is what the Republican side is doing and Stephen Miller is amping it up. Every time I look at the violence I can draw a straight line to the White House. You can’t fight a beast of violence with kind words. Sadly this is why the Democratic Party lost because they tried so hard to follow decorum and stay within the rules of law. They are still trying, but it’s next to impossible. I listened to those scarier than hell podcasts. That’s when being nice and kind isn’t going to cut it with those folks.

You would think a savvy political commentator would know to avoid the two words “both sides” like the plague. Apparently, Joe Walsh isn't as smart as I thought he was.

You can take the man out if the Tea Party but apparently you can't take the Tea Party out of the man.

As much as I dislike the Democratic Party, Joe, you are just flat out wrong. People on the left side of the spectrum do not want violence, they want everyone to live in peace with healthcare and food and affordable housing. All last summer with my summer job I worked with half dozen MAGA guys who "joked" all summer about how much they wanted to "kill the libs." Political violence is the sina qua non of fascism! When I heard of the killings I did not immediately wonder whose side did it, I was simply horrified, just as I am whenever these shootings happen. And I'll bet most Americans felt the same way...😭😢😭

Don’t make me make a list of rightwing extremists who destroy, intimidate, injure, kill in service to their political beliefs.

From the Ku Klux Klan to Jan 6 to the Proud Boys, etc and most recent killings in Minnesota, they believe in a United States where the rights of all citizens to think for themselves must be restricted.

We cannot fall for the nonsense you are spouting. Fortunately, in our free society you will not be punished for your thoughts…at the most ridiculed! You are an idiot.
