Joe, thanks for bringing on a younger voter. I love that you reflected and wondered why the young people were not out at NO KINGS protests. Even with my 40+years in the educational field, I find that young people don't identify with our history with Civil Rights, wars, mandatory church attendance with our parents, and the MANY in my parents' generation who joined the military and served in wars. I would love to see the conscientious young people like Rachel reach out to her peers in colleges and perhaps sponsor political clubs in high schools. I think that young people reach young people more effectively, more authentically and more convincingly. I taught elementary but now I am wondering what schools contain in their curriculum regarding civics, American History and the overall lessons that we learned about the importance of democracy, having a voice and serving their country in some way?
Everything Rachel said is true . What the young people lived through was Covid , and they were too young to truly understand the dangers of the illness and the importance of the rules . They need to read a book entitled “The Orphan Collector “ about the Spanish flu of 1918 . I also think it’s a lot of the young people who follow Trump have issues with having someone telling them what they should be doing , and the same goes for adults too . It’s a shame that our world is such a me society and don’t care about others . No matter how old anyone is we need to learn to care about others .
I absolute loved this discussion!!! Rachel you are very poised, articulate, and impressive. You gave me hope on a very dark day. Thank you.
My husband and I were at a Kings Day protest on Saturday. He observed out loud that there were too few “young” people in attendance and I started looking at everyone through the age lens. There were so many people in their 40s, 50s, 60s - 80s (baby boomers) and even into their 90s!!! Your answer to Joe about why so few young people really resonated with me. But I’m still not sure if I know how to fix it. If everyone has their own listening silo, how do we break through the noise.
With the demise of newspapers and main stream media kowtowing to corporations, I am still not sure how we improve our reach. Short of talking to everyone I see (which I will do 😉) how do we effectively spread news about protest or meeting dates? I would really like to hear your opinion and thoughts. Thank you for your candor and willingness to share what you observe about your “generation”. I really loved this conversation. 🇺🇸
Joe it was a great show! You’re doing good work. You’re right DJT is a unique danger not just to America but the world.

That was super enlightening!
I agree. She is a gifted speaker too.
"True authority is not outside, but within.
The power to overcome authoritarianism begins with inner freedom, awakened consciousness, and fearless choice."

Thank you so much for your kind words!
I'm always open to meaningful conversations and potential collaborations—communication is always welcome.
Let’s definitely explore how we can support and inspire each other on this creative journey. Looking forward to connecting with you! 😊
Reality is not that we live in fucking 'Disneyland', but that we live in a Dangerous Fucking Universe. Stay alert & beware.
It must be tough for Gen X, Millennials, & Gen Z to expect & listen to 'Wisdom' from the generation that fucked everything up, eh ?
You don't like politicians ? Tramp, in actuality, is the 'Ultimate Politician'
I don't blame them. They were losing their expected Youth.
Who started all this bullshit ? I don't want to be associated with them by anything other than age. The "Boomers". I'm 75.
....and they're still in 'Control' on both sides. Throw 'em ALL out, eh ?
