I think it is important that people know the definitions of communist, socialism, democracy, fascism and the rest. These words are thrown out there with fear attached but a good portion of the population only hears “other bad”. Let’s talk about what these words mean.
You are so right, Collette. We have allowed our national education standards to deteriorate to the point that few young people today can tell you that they had a course in Civics or even an undergraduate overview of the Constitution. Since Trump’s people don’t know what they mean, and really don’t care to be corrected, Trump can get away with calling us anything that comes to mind.
I’m 62. My S/0 is 75. He started talking about civics classes in school, to which I replied: “Civics? What’s that?” So. My point is, it disappeared completely in just 13 years or so and has been gone since.
And we live in a very liberal area with what is comparatively “good” education.
Just wanted you to know the depth of what we’re up against.
Trump and his rightwingextremists party are turning the country into a sycophant cult for Russia because Trump is #Putin’sPuppet, there is no doubt about that fact and the rethuglikkkans nationwide are divided into subgroups; white racists/nationalists, white male dominated Christo-Fascists, white jack-booted racist thugs, the white sycophantic women, and finally…all of the rest of the morons and misguided knuckleheads that don’t realize they are not really wanted but are useful idiots…e.g., Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, etc, etc….!
Speaking as an Independent, I agree with Joe, that the Democrats should fight back. The recent past history of the Democrats trying to stay above the fray, that Joe cited, was informative and should serve as a lesson to those who have the voice and power to fight back. I am continually baffled that people believe that piece of shit and his minions.
Thank you, Joe Walsh, for saying what I’ve been thinking since Trump came in the picture! Democrats need to grow a spine. I’ve been a life long Democrat and am switching to Independent. I’m so ashamed of most of our democratic leaders, I’ve written to our Colorado congressmen, and even congressmen out of state. No one can hear me. Thank you for pointing out the obvious, and keep up the good work! You are a joy to read! 💕
